It's over!

The honeymoon is officially over. I really liked that we had a month in between the wedding and honeymoon...it gave us something to look forward to. It was a beautiful week in the Outer Banks...we couldn't have asked for better weather. It was sunny and in the 70's almost everyday. We stayed at a house on a wild horse preserve and saw horses roaming all over through the week. They even walked right by us as we sat on the beach...it was crazy! The place we stayed at was pretty secluded and took some time to get into town so we didn't leave the house much. It was great to just relax and not have to worry about anything. But now back to real life...the honeymoon is over! Now I have at least a weeks worth of vacation hangover to contend with...you know...the depression that sets in after vacation is over. How long does it usually take you before you stop being depressed it's all over??

Losing weight...

I've been on a weight loss plan for almost two months now and it never really gets easy. Just trying to lose a few before the summer months hit and hopefully will be able to just maintain my weight through the summer and leading up to the wedding. I have been dieting since at least 12 years old and although I have learned some things that work and other things that don't...it's still always such a challenge! I'm lucky in that I only have a few pounds to lose but I seem to be struggling with even that. I will persist though and hopefully will be at my ideal weight in the next month or so. Any tricks that you have learned over the years that makes staying on track or losing weight a little easier?

Wedding plans...

The wedding plans are moving right along. So far...we have secured the location for the ceremony and reception. Hired a photographer and DJ and decided on the hotel we would like to stay at. It's a lot of work but the fun kind. Still a lot to do on the to do list but I feel better getting so much done so quickly. Going out to look for a dress this weekend too. Still have to decide on who will perform the ceremony, flowers, get the rings and all that other fun stuff. I was majorly stressed at first but since so much is done at this point I feel much more relaxed...aside from the fact that I worry we won't have enough money!!! Do you enjoy your wedding planning or was it stressful?

It's Christmas time!

I just love Christmas time so much and I try to pack so much into this wonderful season I usually end up doing too much and overwhelm myself! I usually pick up a couple extra shifts at the restaurant since I work in a mall and it's the busy season. Once January comes...the mall will be dead as will my extra income. I do bake various goodies for friends and family members which is very time consuming. I also host Christmas dessert at my house for the family...another major undertaking that takes various hours of planning, shopping and preparing. And of course...all the present shopping, figuring out what to get whom...and all that wrapping! Oh and don't forget the Christmas cards! I took on so much this time last year that by the time Christmas Eve rolled around...I was sick as a dog and went home early to bed on my favorite day of the year. I've been trying very hard to keep myself healthy this year to avoid missing out on my favorite holiday of the year. Do you tend to plan to much for the holiday season and end up having the whole thing a blur?

My dogs new love....

So it's official...my dog now loves my boyfriend more than me. She goes absolutely nuts when he comes over. When we both come in at the same time...she runs right to him and barely notices that I am in the room. If he goes to give me a hug and or kiss while sitting on the couch...she gets up in his face to try to separate us. And whenever I leave the house alone she is usually okay with it...but if him and I leave together...she literally howls as we walk out the door. My poor neighbors!

Thanksgiving travels!

Most years I go to visit my brother and sister in law in North Carolina for Thanksgiving. I have missed a couple here and there...but if I can get away from work I always head south to spend the holiday there. It's always been just me and my dog Tucker who come and I usually bring them Philly type items they can't get down there. Tastykakes, hoagies from Wawa...etc. This year...my boyfriend Joe is going to be with me....sooo....my question is....should I bring a little something extra this year for the added person? Should I get them a gift in addition to the tastykakes? Should we offer money for food? Or maybe take them to dinner as a thank you? Let me know what you think! And have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
