Reruns?
What is the deal with the constant barrage of reruns on television? Didn't February used to be a sweeps period guaranteeing new shows through the month? Oprah has been mostly reruns for the past three weeks at least! Now I'm finding out that my new favorite show....90210....will be in reruns until the end of March. That is crazy! What happened to having full seasons? Of course there is nothing you can do to change the situation...as usual...the viewer public is powerless except to give up t-v altogether which I'm sure I couldn't do!

right there with ya, sister! crollins tells me today that 90210 got renewed! i'm like "a second season? great! now tell me where the FIRST season went!!!"
ReplyDeleteit's like the TV people think it's fun to spread out the TV season over the course of a calendar year. it's not. it's stupid.
I especially dislike when the late night shows are in reruns. Heck, that's how I get my news, by Jay Leno's monologue. Back as a kid when Johnny Carson hosted the Tonight Show, if he went on vacation he had a sub host on, isn't that how we got Leno in the first place? Always new shows, except when there was a holiday where they KNEW no one would watch. I also am annoyed when they spread great shows out, especially Burn Notice, In Plain Sight and HBO's True Blood.
ReplyDeleteEvery Monday night for the past 3 weeks, I've gotten all snuggly with my blanket and hot chocolate and waited for Gossip Girl to start. BUT NO! It's been in reruns for like a month, and they never announced it or said when new episodes will be back! By the time that show comes back, I'll have absolutely no idea what's happening on it. Not that I really ever do anyway...
ReplyDeleteFeb is time to break out the DVDs and watch entire seasons at once...
